Michelle is taking on the Brighton Marathon this weekend to raise vital funds for Oasis Domestic Abuse Service.
Michelle, who is a co-owner of The Smart Way to Rent, is no stranger to endurance challenges. This will be her second time running in support of Oasis, but this year, she’s taking on the 26.2-mile challenge with an extra special running partner - her partner, Joe. While Michelle is experienced in long-distance running, this will be Joe’s very first marathon, making it an even bigger test of endurance and determination.
Speaking ahead of the big race, Michelle said:
"Running has always been a passion of mine, but being able to use it to support such an important cause makes it even more special. Oasis Domestic Abuse Service does incredible work for survivors of domestic abuse, offering them a safe place and the support they need to rebuild their lives. Every step we take on that marathon course is for them."
Joe, who only recently started long-distance running, admitted the challenge was daunting but exciting:
"Michelle has been my biggest inspiration. Training has been tough, but knowing we’re running for such an important charity has kept me going. I’m ready to take on Brighton!"
The couple's fundraising journey has been full of memorable moments, including meeting fitness coach and TV personality Joe Wicks when he visited Margate. They even joined him for a breezy 10K run along the seafront - a special moment that fueled their motivation even further.
Oasis Domestic Abuse Service provides refuge and vital support to individuals and families affected by domestic abuse. Their work includes offering safe housing, community advice, advocacy, and education to help survivors regain their independence.
Michelle and Joe have set up a JustGiving page to encourage donations and raise awareness for the cause. Anyone who would like to support their marathon mission can visit:

With race day fast approaching, Michelle and Joe are calling on their friends, family, and the local community to get behind them and support Oasis Domestic Abuse Service.
"Every donation, no matter how small, helps make a difference. Let’s stand together against domestic abuse and support those who need it most," Michelle added.
Good luck to Michelle and Joe as they take on the Brighton Marathon - running with purpose, passion, and a powerful message.
